LightPoints™
LightGlass™
PowerContact™
How does it work?

In the base glass, a transparent conductive sheet is installed where the LEDs are welded with a special process, which serves to protect them from damage and environmental inclemency.

The LEDs can be placed freely on the surface of the glass, giving you countless possibilities for your creativity.

What thicknesses for the base glass are available?

4 & 6 mm.

Are there any special requirements for the glass cover?

Any glass can be used according to customer’s specifications.

What are the maximum glass sizes?

The maximum predetermined size of the glass is 1.200 X 4.000 mm. For other sizes, please check .

Where can LightPoints™ be used?

Due to the virtually unlimited possibilities of design they can be used for almost any application indoors and outdoors.

What finishing of the edge is necessary?

Are supplied with edges polished.

Can you equip the glass with holes?

Yes, as for example the fixing holes.

Is another type of lamination possible?

Yes, depending on the requirements, it can be used as an alternative to laminated Polyvinyl Butyral. as, for example E.V.A. and even glass laminated with PPD (SentryGlas Plus) are implemented. However, in each project the requirements will be verified.

How do LightPoints™ are connected to the electricity network?

LightPoints™ are connected to the electrical network through two output cables with a diameter of approximately 2 mm and a cable length of 3 m. at the edge of the glass, although the length size can vary depending on the application.

What type of current is supplied to the LightPoints™?

The glasses are powered with low voltage direct current usually with 24V or 48V.

Never connect the cables directly to the home network – CAUTION risk of electric shock! The transformators are supplied as standard order. If other transformators are used, you may lose the warranty. If you are not sure before connecting, please ask our technical department.

Where to install the LightPoints™ transformers outdoors?

The transformators must be kept in dry places and protected from inclement weather. We recommend the placement of the transformators through a cable extension indoors. Make sure the place is adequately ventilated in order to counteract any additional heating. An ideal place is, for example, a closet for storage.

What precautions should be taken to protect the LEDs?

LEDs in operation can lose luminosity with direct sunlight and to avoid any damage due to sunlight, we recommend a photometric sensor that controls the light intensity with a timer, light sensor or motion detector.

What lifespan can be expected from LightPoints™?

According to the manufacturer’s statements of the LEDs, the service life is around 100,000 hours of operation 24/7, this would correspond to an average use term of approximately 11.5 years. And if the operating time is exclusively nocturnal, the useful life would double to about 23 years.

The rapid dissipation of heat from the glass surface of the LEDs and the calculation of a “tighter” power supply will further influence the lifespan of the LEDs.

What happens if an LED fails?

It does not change. To eliminate defective LEDs and avoid loss of quality, the LEDs are selected with a sophisticated testing process to check that they work continuously throughout the production. The exact calculation of the connections of the LEDs avoids possible individual damage by spikes.

Can you change the intensity of light / brightness?

Depending on the current, the brightness of the LEDs can be adjusted with an external regulator. Control special effects is achieved with predetermined circuits.

What color temperature of the LED is used and what intensity of light does it have?

Only high-end A LEDs are used. The default color temperature is at 5,000 Kelvin and have a light intensity at a distance of one meter, from 25 LUX / LED.

How bright can the glass be?

The luminosity of the glass depends on the maximum number of LEDs that are used. However, the actual perception depends largely on the ambient light.

What is the maximum amount of LEDs that can be placed?

The maximum number of usable LEDs depends on the size of the glass and the design. Arranged in a template can be placed up to 400 LEDs per m².

How far apart can the LEDs be placed?

Depending on the size of the glass and the creativity, the LEDs can be at least 2 millimeters away.

What colors can be used?

Cold white, (5,000 Kelvin), warm white (2,700 Kelvin), blue and green (2,700 Kelvin), which radiate on both sides, as well as yellow and red (2,700 Kelvin) that radiate in one direction only. Check other colors

Is there the possibility of representing letters or logos?

Yes, of course, the positions of the LEDs on the surface of the glass can be freely chosen, always taking into account the restrictions (for example, the size of the glass, the format, design, etc.). Our technical department will advise you, depending on your needs, positioning and location.

Is it possible to see moving images or messages with LightPoints™?

Yes, of course you can implement moving images or even messages in the glass and divide it into several feeding cycles by controlling it individually point by point, in this way the crossed compositions of light, moving images, and advertising messages are seen on the surface of transparent glass in a very elegant way.

How can LightPoints™ be customized?

The thickness of the base glass of the LightPoints™ will always be 4 or 6 mm. At the customer’s request, the glass structure, the illuminated area, the color of the LEDs, the temperature and the style of the glass cover and the control elements of the LEDs can be customized.

What do I see when they are off?

The LightPoints™ when they are off are completely transparent, depending on the distance of the glass, the number of LEDs and the design will remain recognizable.

In what glass format can it be made?

Square, round or in any other way. Curved shapes are not available.

What applications can I plan ?, Wet locations ?, Facades ?, Outdoor / indoor applications?

LightPoints™ are supplied with laminated safety glass or insulating glass and can be used in all the mentioned applications, taking into account the technical limitations for laminated or insulated glass. Check the applications.

Yes, you just have to give us the briefing of your specific needs or objectives and the required priorities of your product. We will provide specific solutions jointly developed by our technical department according to your needs, for the success of your products.

How much are the LightPoints™ worth?

The price per square meter depends on the exact requirements and specifications provided by the customer. We will advise you for your specific project and we will present a proposal that suits your needs.

Do you sell samples of LightPoints™?

Yes, at 300 Euros with shipping costs included.

However, we would be delighted to have the opportunity to show the different options in a personal meeting.

How does LightGlass™ work?

On the opposite side of the glass there are a regular grid of small screen-printed or sand-etched dots, which allows the light  to spread over the entire surface of the glass.

Why does the entire glass surface light up homogeneously?

The design of the dotted grid structure in the glass allows the largest light flow to be calculated individually for a controlled distribution, taking into account physical contexts in relation to the arrangement of light extraction, glass size, and light exit point arrangement, is the secret behind the luminous homogeneous surface of LightGlass™

Is there any option of not illuminating the entire surface?

Yes, exist an option for not iluminating the entire surface, please check with Technical Dept.

Can I choose different light intensities?

Yes, because the density of the screen-printed dotted grid on the glass determines the intensity of light output. If the focus is on maximum homogeneity and intensity of light emission, the dotted grid is more close to each other.

What detail makes the glass so special?

LightGlass™ films are made of highly resistant ESG toughened glass with special conduction.

Can LightGlass™ be combined with another sheet of glass?

Base glass can be combined with another sheet of glass. However, unwanted effects can occur, e. g. loss of brightness, uncontrolled light output, etc. To avoid unforeseen events, please contact us and we will advise you on how to achieve optimum results according to your needs.

What glass thickness is available?

LightGlass™ gives optimum results with a thickness of 4+4,10 and 16 mm. Lower glass thicknesses are not recommended. Please check for customized projects.

What is the maximum light area of LightGlass™?

Up to 1,500 mm is possible with single-sided light input. An area of up to 3,000 mm can be illuminated at the opposite edges of two light sources.

How can it be the edge?

The side where the LED is placed is polished (the other three sides may be granulated).

Are holes in the glass possible?

Yeah. Yeah. Perforation should be considered depending on its size and location. Based on our experience we have to check the perforation used, but in most cases it has no effect on homogeneous illumination.

What type of glass can be used?

Tempered glass ESG, TCG, LSG and insulating glass, are adjustable to almost any project requirement. Even multiple laminates can be used, for example, which are necessary for the installation of ladders or walkable glass.

How bright is LightGlass™?

The color perception and brightness of LightGlass™ depends greatly on the environment. Depending on type and design the luminaire is 3-20 candela (cd /m²). The smaller the width of the glass, the greater the maximum achievable luminaire. The 1,200 mm wide glasses are well suited for use in brightness up to 200 lux. Large-format glasses (1,200 mm – 1,500 mm wide) achieve good results in terms of brightness of about 50 Lux. If the brightness perception is too high, it can be adjusted with a dimmer.
